We’re all excited about seeing Miranda Priestly on our screens again. But there are also plenty of new characters joining The Devil Wears Prada 2. It turns out that Lady Gaga will make an appearance in the much-anticipated sequel – though it may not exactly be a starring role.
Lady Gaga is taking her acting career to yet another level
The Devil Wears Prada sequel has just got a whole lot more exciting for Gaga fans. The singer is said to featuring in the movie, which is currently in production.
However, as far as screen times goes, it’ll probably be a case of “here for a good time, not a long time.” Gaga is squeezing in some filming between shows on her Mayhem Ball Tour.
The Grammy winner was recently seen in Milan, where the upcoming movie is currently being shot. She jetted to Italy after playing four nights at London’s O2 Arena, and two in Manchester. It was back to work as normal yesterday, as she took to the stage at Stockholm’s Avicii Arena.
The movie appearance will be Gaga’s first acting gig since her role in Joker: Folie à Deux. The reaction online was predominantly positive. On one Reddit thread, a user wrote: “She’s super talented. Happy for her.”
Another added: “She pretty much changed the fashion game in Hollywood so it only makes sense. She’s the reason avant-garde couture is worn more often now in Hollywood and especially the music scene.”
While the storyline for the new movie hasn’t been confirmed, we know that Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt will be reprising their roles. Newcomers include Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak. Anna Wintour is also rumored to be making a cameo.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 is set for release on May 1, 2026.
