Mark Sanchez Breaks Silence After Stabbing and Arrest

Mark Sanchez has just one thing on his mind at the moment: making a full recovery.

The former NFL quarterback and current color analyst was discharged from the hospital on Sunday, having previously suffered stab wounds to his chest. Mark was involved in an incident with a truck driver in Indianapolis ahead of a game that he was supposed to work on at Fox Sports.

After being released from the hospital, Mark was taken to the Marion County Community Justice Center for processing. He’s facing felony charges of battery causing serious injury as a result of the incident.

Mark Sanchez seems to be in a world of trouble right now, but that’s the furthest thing from his mind. The football analyst spoke publicly for the first time since the incident on Sunday.

“I’m just focused on my recovery and I just want to thank the first responders, Eskanazi hospital, Marion County Sherif, and the Indianapolis Police Department, metro PD,” Mark told Fox59. Mark added that there would be a day for him to answer questions about what transpired between him and 69-year-old Perry Tole, but not at this time.

Perry claims that he stabbed Mark in self-defense after the former New York Jet allegedly attacked him. He says he did this after first attempting to pepper-spray the former first-round draft pick.

The incident took place at Loughmiller’s Pub and Eatery in Indianapolis on October 4. Perry, who works as a delivery driver for Restaurant Technologies, suffered wounds to his face in the altercation. He claims that he sustained serious injuries from Mark and is suing him and the Fox Corporation.

Last week Mark pleaded not guilty to felony assault charges. A pretrial conference on this matter is scheduled for November 5.
