Keanu Reeves’ Gorgeous Tribute to Diane Keaton Revealed

Keanu Reeves has fond memories of Diane Keaton.

The two worked together on the film Something’s Gotta Give in 2003, a time that the Canadian actor really enjoyed.

Working with two iconic actors, Diane and Jack Nicholson, is something Keanu is deeply grateful for, having learned a great deal from them. Keanu plays the role of Jack’s therapist in the movie, who is a massive fan of Erica Barry, a divorced Broadway playwright played by Diane.

The Academy Award-winning actress had health concerns, which she kept private. She died on October 11 at the age of 79.

There are many words to describe a critically acclaimed actress like Diane. On October 13, Keanu appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and was asked to share a treasured memory about the late actress. He described her as “an extraordinary, unique, special person and artist.”

Keanu reflected on a scene they shot in Paris for Something’s Gotta Give. Seeing two iconic performers in Jack and Diane be so authentic is something the star of John Wick remembers well. “The intelligence, the humor, but just watching them just be themselves,” said Keanu. He described Diane as a “total pro.”

Together, Jack and Diane had 17 Oscar nominations, with the former winning three and the latter one for Best Actress in Annie Hall. They both earned Golden Globe nominations for Something’s Gotta Give, with Diane winning. She also got a nomination for an Oscar for her performance, losing out to Charlize Theron that year.

In 2020, Keanu and Diane reunited at the Oscars. “Generous, generous artist and a very special, unique person,” Keanu went on to say about Diane. Stephen, meanwhile, called Diane “one of our most talented, original and effortlessly funny actors.”

Keanu is currently making his Broadway debut alongside Alex Winter in Waiting for Godot.
