Reba McEntire will soon be getting married at the persistence of a fellow Queen of Country.
Dolly Parton has been a strong supporter of Reba’s relationship with Rex Linn, hoping the couple would commit their lives to each other.
Reba and Rex had been dating for five years before deciding to take the next step in their relationship earlier this year.

Dolly Parton is a woman of many talents, and her persuasive abilities are strong. It is thanks to this that Rex finally decided to propose to Reba after they had been together for years.
An insider told RadarOnline.com that Dolly saw Rex “ignoring Reba’s hints about wanting to get engaged, and it infuriated Dolly.” The 9 to 5 singer took matters into her own hands, telling him to stop dragging his feet and ask her to marry him. At last, Rex listened and Reba said yes. The news broke during an interview in September when a reporter referred to Rex as Reba’s fiancé.
Taking initiative doesn’t appear to be a quality that Reba or Rex exhibits much. The pair first met in the 1990s but didn’t begin dating until 2020. They reconnected following the death of Reba’s mother, while having plenty of time on their hands in quarantine. Reba guest-starred on an episode of Young Sheldon with Rex playing the recurring role of Sheldon’s high school principal.
The subject of marriage is something Reba discussed in 2023 during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live. A fan asked her if she’d get married again. Reba’s response: “That would be up to him (Rex).”
For the red-headed country singer, this will be her third marriage, while it’s the first for Rex. Reba has one child with ex-husband Narvel Blackstock, a racecar driver named Shelby.
