Cardi B is addressing recent controversies, including a feud with Nicki Minaj and a civil assault trial, calling it a “mother warrior” moment. Cardi B reveals she isn’t able to separate herself from drama in Paper Magazine interview
In her latest cover story with Paper Magazine, Cardi B opened up about how motherhood has intensified her emotional resilience amid ongoing public scrutiny. Reflecting on recent challenges, including a civil assault trial stemming from a past altercation at a Los Angeles event, the 33-year-old rapper discussed how personal trials continue to collide with her professional life.
Cardi B, who is currently expecting her fourth child with boyfriend Stefon Diggs, shared that she’s embracing the experience with a sense of calm, saying, “I am just letting time flow right now. It’s my fourth kid, so I’m already used to it.”
However, she admitted that the past week pushed her to a breaking point emotionally. “This week, my mother warrior came out,” she explained. “I was fighting for my kids. I have never had to get that nasty for them before, but I did. It felt strange, but I felt like a lioness.”
While Cardi didn’t delve deeply into the details, her comments came on the heels of a heated social media feud with fellow rapper Nicki Minaj. The brief but intense exchange involved personal insults and mentions of their children, before both sides appeared to reach a mutual truce.
Rather than focus on the controversy, Cardi chose to highlight the strength she found through it. “This has been one of the moments I got tested the most as a parent,” she said. “But it showed me how strong I am.”
With three children, Kulture, 8, Wave, 3, and Blossom, 12 months, Cardi says her priority is clear: “protecting her family”.
