Breaking Bad’s RJ Mitte Engaged to Kennedy Suarez

The TV son of one of the most iconic fictional drug kingpins is getting married.

RJ Mitte popped the question to girlfriend Kennedy Suarez on her 30th birthday earlier this month. RJ, who is best known for playing the role of Walter Jr. or Flynn on Breaking Bad, had been dating Kennedy for five years.

The son of Walter White, aka Heisenberg on the small screen, proposed at the 56th annual Dia del Sol 2025 fundraising gala. The event raises money for the United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) of San Diego. It’s a cause near and dear to RJ’s heart, as he lives with the disorder just like his character in Breaking Bad.

RJ and Kennedy have known each other for quite some time. While they’ve dated for about five years, they were good friends for about 10 years before that.

“I’m thrilled to have found my person, my partner in life who makes me want to be better, no matter what we’re doing,” RJ said to People after getting down on one knee. “Kennedy is my everything and I can’t wait to officially start our life together.” Although Kennedy doesn’t have a disability like her fiancé, she is a staunch advocate for disability rights.

The couple isn’t thinking about wedding planning just yet, but is instead enjoying their life together in Brownsville, Texas.

He was a blameless victim of his father’s secret criminal activity on television, but behind the scenes, RJ works tirelessly to try to remove disability stigmas around casting. His TV dad, portrayed by Bryan Cranston, is apparently still somewhat curious about drugs years later. The actor shared last month that he tried shrooms for the first time on Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s critically acclaimed The Studio.

RJ’s latest film credit was playing the role of Fitz in the movie Westhampton. The flick premiered earlier this year at the Tribeca Film Festival.
