Kim Kardashian recently revealed that a lack of emotional and financial safety prompted her decision to divorce Kanye West after eight years of marriage. Speaking on Wednesday’s episode of “Call Her Daddy,” the reality star described their relationship as “toxic” at times and explained what led her to walk away.

Making her appearance on Alex Cooper’s podcast, “Call Her Daddy,” Kim Kardashian shared a lot of details about her personal and professional life. When the topic of Kanye West popped up, the entrepreneur stated, “There were just a lot of things that I wouldn’t deal with.” She cited the stress of hearing negative comments about her children and their grandmother and aunts from West, saying, “If someone feels that way, then we shouldn’t be together.
Kardashian also criticized her ex-husband for “airing” personal details about their lives. The SKIMS founder remembered “just not feeling safe… emotionally or even financially,” as she recalled an instance when she would “come home and we had like five Lamborghinis.”
However, during what she described as “an episode,” West allegedly gave the cars away “to all of his friends,” leaving them “gone,” she claimed. “You never know what you’re going to get when you wake up, and that’s a really unsettling feeling,” the 44-year-old said. “Lack of stability was a big thing.”
Kardashian admitted she initially feared losing access to the fashion and art world, which West had introduced her to. Yet she acknowledged that leaving the marriage led to some of her biggest professional opportunities. “It was the universe rewarding me and showing me that I was moving in the right direction,” she said. “I have no regrets. I have four amazing, beautiful babies.”
The “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” alum’s choice to divorce was rooted in parenting. She wanted to model strength and self-care for her four children: North, 12, Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 6. Kardashian and West tied the knot in 2014 and went on to welcome four children together. By 2022, concerns over West’s behavior prompted her to file for divorce. West later married Bianca Censori the same year.
