In the premiere episode, Nate told his tribe he is a stay-at-home dad who used to work in the film industry. When his fellow castaways inquired about his film credits, he told them he worked as a production assistant in a few superhero movies. His fellow castaways were impressed, but little did they know Nate was seriously underselling his accomplishments in the industry.

In reality, Nate is a major film producer. His credits include Black Panther, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, The Eternals, and more. Nate spoke about his storied career in an exclusive interview with Parade, telling the outlet he originally wanted to be a movie director.
“I think somewhere there’s a time capsule from my high school where I said I wanted to be a director, but this was the early 90s, so there was less information about how it all worked,” he shared. “All I knew is I wanted to do something in film. So I applied and got into UCLA. And then I applied to the film program, and I did not get in. But I lucked out, and I got a job as an intern at Columbia Pictures, and my career started from there.”
