Taylor Swift’s alleged shade to Travis Kelce’s ex, Kayla Nicole, has not gone unnoticed. The “Daylight” singer gifted actress Teyana Taylor some goodies this week. Swift sent a curated hamper to Teyana that included a copy of her latest album, a handwritten note, and a crewneck sweatshirt. Teyana took to Instagram to thank Swift and wrote, “Thank you, Tay Tay!!” accompanied by red rose and dancing girl emoticons (via TMZ).
For those unversed, Nicole revealed on Angel Reese’s podcast, Unapologetically Angel, that her ex-boyfriend dumped her via texts for a singer-actress. While she didn’t mention any names, fans were quick to figure out she was talking about former NBA player Iman Shumpert and Teyana Taylor.
Nicole revealed she even dressed up as Teyana for Halloween that year, without taking names. Teyana didn’t let that slide and posted a lengthy response to Nicole. She reportedly wrote, “It’s really crazy that everyone is allowed to bother me & be distasteful… EVERYBODY gets to play… while I move with grace. ALWAYS! But now I wanna have a lil Sagittarius fun too and it’s a problem?”
Teyana also hinted at Swift in her lengthy post. She wrote, “She pulled the Black card when it came to Taylor Swift. But in the same circle, turned around and tried to bully the Black woman that was married to her situationship she claimed ‘dumped her’ for me.”
Interestingly, Swift guested on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on October 6 to promote her album The Life of a Showgirl. In a rapid-fire round, Swift revealed the last movie she watched was One Battle After Another starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Teyana Taylor.
The pop icon was all praise for Teyana’s performance in the movie and predicted an Oscar win for the actress as well. She remarked, “Oh my God. Chase Infiniti, Teyana Taylor, how are they going to split the Oscar in half?”
The Internet believes Swift mentioning Teyana wasn’t a mere coincidence; it was a direct and purposeful jab at Nicole. One fan wrote, “Ohh some people don’t get it yet but Taylor getting messy this era and I love it.
