Britney Spears is pushing back on X (formerly Twitter) against Kevin Federline’s claims in his upcoming memoir, “You Thought You Knew.” While the memoir stirs headlines, Spears accused her ex-husband of “gaslighting,” attacking her in interviews, and trying to profit from her pain. Even so, she added that she plans to focus on healing and taking up new projects.
Britney Spears rants on Twitter (X) amid ex’s memoir drama
A long rant on X (formerly Twitter) spoke volumes about Britney Spears’ stance on her ex-husband’s forthcoming memoir. Although the book is scheduled to be released on October 21, early excerpts circulated on social media, causing a massive public reaction. Soon, Spears responded, calling the narrative “extremely hurtful and exhausting.”
In a recent tweet from October 16, she wrote, “To be loved unconditionally and with a naive heart like mine, always being threatened or made to believe I’m the bad one as they profit off my pain.” Spears continued, “I 100 percent beg to differ the way he is literally attacking me in his interviews,” adding, “no money from Britney for 5 years you trying to get paid that’s what general America is saying.”
The pop singer further questioned why Federline was “SO ANGRY.” She suggested, “They get entitled with special secrets as they treat me exactly the way my father used to,” also claiming that “they secretly love to cast me out and make me feel completely isolated.” In her own words, furthermore, Spears pleaded, “Oh dear Jesus show me there is a God and I can too be loved unconditionally and not have to be so perfect.”
Federline’s memoir claims include serious allegations about Spears’s behavior during their marriage and after. Moreover, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he described her parenting as “Joan Crawford on crack,” and said he wrote the book to “sound the alarm” about her mental health.
Addressing the turbulence in her previous post, the “Gimme More” singer wrote, “Trust me, those white lies in that book, they are going straight to the bank and I am the only one who genuinely gets hurt here.”
