Rapper Snoop Dogg, 53, has voiced support for same-sex parenting in an interview with Jeremy Beloate while promoting his new inclusive children’s single, “Love Is Love”. In fact, he teamed up with GLAAD (Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) for its annual Spirit Day to announce his latest single. Snoop Dogg voiced support of gay parents everywhere
In a recent interview, rapper Snoop Dogg expressed his support for same-sex parenting and the importance of teaching children about love and acceptance. The 53-year-old artist shared his views in a conversation with “The Voice” alum Jeremy Beloate on Thursday, Oct. 16. The interview is available on Dogg’s YouTube channel, @Snoop Dogg TV. The discussion coincided with the launch of his new, inclusive children’s single, “Love Is Love”. The single was released through the rapper’s animated platform Doggyland.
As per People, Snoop collaborated with GLAAD on their annual Spirit Day. He remarked, “It’s a beautiful thing that kids can have parents of all walks of life, and be able to be shown love, and be able to be taught what love is.”
As a matter of fact, the rapper emphasized that compassion and prejudice are both learned behaviors. He continued, stating, “Hate is taught and so is love.” Moreover, he added, “Whether it’s two fathers, two mothers, whatever it is, love is the key.” Thus, Snoop praised same-sex parents, saying that children in these families are surrounded by love and shown what family truly means. He also thanked all parents for their hard work and for raising their kids with care and kindness.
Explaining his motivation for joining forces with GLAAD, Snoop said that he wanted to “teach these kids through my music.” Beloate, who voices a puppy named Zippy in Doggyland, praised the rapper’s inclusive approach. As can be heard in the inteview, he said, “You get to see everybody represented, you know, and it’s important. I’m just really, really happy that you’re doing that with “Love Is Love.”
