Victoria Beckham has made a heartbreaking admission about suffering with an eating disorder early on in her career. And how she kept this from her husband, David Beckham.
In a new podcast episode, the former Spice Girl and businesswoman opened up about her difficult relationship with her body, as well as how she overcame it.
Victoria Beckham suffered in silence with her eating disorder

Speaking to Alex Cooper on Call Her Daddy, Victoria said: “When you have an eating disorder, it makes you miserable.”
“It is lonely. It is all-consuming,” she went on. “I was too scared to talk to anyone. I didn’t feel that I could trust anyone at all.”
Although she admitted her footballer husband knew she was “very disciplined” with food, Victoria said she never completely confided in him about how bad her struggle was, which at times left her “losing all sense of reality”.
Eventually, however, Victoria managed to “turn an unhealthy obsession with food into a healthy relationship.” What’s more, with the help of David, she also improved her outlook on exercise. “All I wanted to do was burn, burn, burn,” she recalled. “He was the one who encouraged me to start weight training.” Now, she said, the pair often “work out together.”
After years of suffering in silence, Victoria has been more open about this recently. As well as speaking on Alex’s podcast, she gave viewers an insight into the topic in her recent Netflix series.
“What is interesting is I’ve had so many women message me after seeing the documentary and say how they can relate,” she revealed. “If my experience and my story can help anyone or encourage anyone to talk, that’s another really good reason to have done this.”
