Selling Sunset Season 9 will show how Chrishell Stause’s friendship with Emma Hernan ended over a feud with her boyfriend. Chrishell and Emma became fast friends when the latter joined the Netflix series. And not just because of their shared rivalry with Christine Quinn. However, the once close friends are no longer on speaking terms. And it’s because of Chrishell’s disapproval of Emma’s boyfriend. Since this is set to be a major storyline in Season 9 of the real estate show, here’s everything you need to know about the ongoing Selling Sunset feud.
Chrishell Stause claims Emma Hernan friendship ended over this Selling Sunset feud
For years, Chrishell and Emma’s friendship seemed unbreakable. They were always seen together and frequently posted together. However, fans noticed a stark change earlier this year. When one Selling Sunset viewer on Instagram asked Chrishell what was going on with Emma, The Traitors Season 3 star didn’t hold back.
Chrishell revealed she couldn’t deal with Emma’s boyfriend Blake Davis. Chrishell responded to the comment, “Ask her about her MAGA bf who told me pronouns are dumb and that he likes to use the N-word. I just can’t with that. Too old to allow that in. But love her from afar.”
After Chrishell’s comment went viral, Blake responded to the Daily Mail. He claimed he only met Chrishell “a handful of times” and that politics didn’t come up in their conversation. However, he did admit to misgendering Chrishell’s partner G Flip when they first met. But he claimed it was a mistake and that he “respectfully used the correct pronouns” since. The 28-year-old also got a dig in at Chrishell’s age (44), saying he was “getting picked on by someone my mom’s age.” Real nice.
Emma said Chrishell “hates” Blake in the Selling Sunset Season 9 Trailer
In the beginning of the Selling Sunset Season 9 trailer, Emma and Chrishell still appear like inseparable friends. However, when Blake appears, Chrishell is visibly horrified. Remember that clip of Taylor Swift making a disgusted face at Justin Bieber when she disapproved of him dating her BFF Selena Gomez? Yeah, it’s like that.
“I may or may not have run into an old flame,” Emma gushes of Blake in the trailer. They also show PDA while at lunch with Chrishell and Chelsea Lazkani. Emma hesitates to define their relationship status when Chrishell asks. But elsewhere in the trailer, Blake says he loves her and Emma looks at engagement rings. When Chelsea brings up Chrishell’s reaction to Emma and Blake potentially getting engaged, Emma admits Chrishell “f*cking hates him.”
It seems like the trailer set Blake off. Because the day it came out, he responded with some shocking social media posts about Chrishell.
Blake asked his followers if he should sue Chrishell
On October 16, Blake posted his DMs to Chrishell on Instagram stories. Notably, they were all unanswered. In one message, he wrote, “Hope you know that I do love you very much and support you and very proud of you and all of your success and your wonderful relationship and support to my GF. I knew we disagree on things and that’s ok but I do think very highly of you. I really do pray that one day we can have a great friendship.” His most recent message in January 2025 read, “praying for you,” presumably about the wildfires. He sarcastically captioned the screenshots, “I’m so mean to this person right?” and “wow I’m such an assh*le.”
However, Blake soon posted another story that proved Chrishell right. He posted a poll asking, “Should I sue the b*tch for lying her d*ck off about me.” Yikes! He followed this up with another story, writing, “f*ck dat b*tch.” No wonder Chrishell wants nothing to do with him! Blake eventually deleted the IG stories. But screenshots were posted to the Selling Sunset Reddit, and users were unanimously Team Chrishell.
Days after his social media rant, Emma posted Instagram stories of her and Blake on vacation. So, the on-again/off-again couple are back on. We’ll learn more about this relationship, and feud with Chrishell, when Selling Sunset Season 9 premieres October 29.
