President Donald Trump spoke to the media about a wide range of topics. One topic that came up was the potential for a third term in office. Despite the restrictions of the constitution, he doesn’t seem deterred when he shared that he would love to serve another term. He did keep it vague, though, and told reporters to interpret for themselves.
Donald Trump has ruled out accepting a Vice President position
The president was questioned by the press on Air Force One. Some of the questions ranged from his recent MRI results to a potential for a third run as president. While he was being a bit cagey about that, one thing he was clear about was that he has zero interest in being vice president.
“I would love to do it,” Trump told reporters when asked about Steve Bannon’s recent comments claiming there were plans for Trump to potentially run again in 2028.
“I would love to do it,” Trump reiterated (RIP U.S. Constitution). “I have some of my best numbers ever,” he added.
A reporter then wanted to clarify that he’s “not ruling it out.” Instead of replying with a straightforward answer, the president replied, “Am I not ruling it out? You’ll have to tell me.”
He couldn’t help but continue by taking a hit at the Democrats. “All I can tell you is that we have a great, great group of people, which they don’t,” he said, referring to the Democrats. He then took jabs at Rep. Jasmine Crocket and Rep. Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez, saying they were both “low IQ.”
Another reporter then brought up another theory about how Trump might stay in the White House. He could potentially run as vice president. But he quickly shot that theory down, saying that it wouldn’t be right and calling it “too cute.”
It looks like, as far as he’s concerned, it’s president or bust. But only time will tell whether or not he’s actually going to make a run or just keep hinting at the idea. In the meantime, Trump can focus on his state trips, whether or not he will be handing out any more presidential pardons, and his plans for the White House.
