Through the good and the bad, sisterhood conquers all.
That’s the case with Elle Fanning, who recalls standing up for her older sister, Dakota Fanning. Being in the spotlight most of their lives, the sisters are often subjected to public criticism, as many child stars are.
Those are things the sisters can relate to, and it’s among the many things that make them so close-knit.

In their limited personal time, Elle and Dakota have had some interesting experiences, to say the least.
There was one rather tense encounter the pair went through with a rude man that neither will soon forget. While they didn’t get into how the person was being inappropriate, it seems Elle may have inadvertently gotten some payback on this person. “She accidentally spat her drink out on the man,” Dakota told The Sunday Times.
On another occasion, Dakota recalls a visit her little sister once had with a psychic. Apparently, this person said Dakota wouldn’t meet the person she’ll marry until she’s 32. The Emmy Award nominee turns 32 in February. While this was foretold to Elle, it doesn’t seem like something Dakota is into. “I don’t have time for that,” joked Dakota. In September, though, she admitted to giving online dating a try, but only for fun.
The sisters will be reuniting on the big screen again. Production of The Nightingale begins very soon. The film is an adaptation of two sisters in the French Resistance during World War II. It comes out in theatres in 2027, with the sisters working as actors and producers.
It will mark the first time the two have appeared together in a film since I Am Sam. In that movie, Dakota plays Sean Penn’s daughter, with Elle as her younger self.
The two are among the producers for the show Margo’s Got Money Troubles, which stars Elle and Michelle Pfeiffer.
