Relationship rumors about Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell began circulating after the release of their movie, “Anyone But You” in 2023. But Sweeney is now putting all the speculation to rest with her latest interview.
During the interview with Variety, the actress denied any romantic relationship with her co-star, insisting it was all press-generated. “Honestly, the press did it themselves. There was no leaning in, per se,” Sweeney revealed.
While their dating rumors refused to die down during the film’s promotion, the 28-year-old star insisted that everything was just professional between them. “Truly, the tabloids and journalists just created it and kept going. Even if we were just standing next to each other, it was ‘They’re standing two inches apart!'”
However, she was quick to clarify that she and Powell “genuinely care for each other and have a love and respect for one another.” The “Euphoria” star even admitted that she “love being with him. And I think people just truly saw a really beautiful pairing.”
That is why, if given a chance again, she would love to act with the “Twisters” actor again. “We are always open to it,” she confessed. “I think that when the right concept and script come to Glen and I, we will jump in hand in hand.”
According to Harper’s Bazaar, even Powell had previously admitted, while promoting their 2023 romcom, that he and Sweeney have “a ton of fun together, and we have a ton of effortless chemistry.”
The 37-year-old told The New York Times, “That’s people wanting what’s on the screen off the screen, and sometimes you just have to lean into it a bit—and it worked wonderfully. Sydney is very smart.”
