Cheryl Hines, 60, is still disappointed by her appearance on The View. While the Curb Your Enthusiasm actress and wife of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was a guest on the ABC talk show two weeks ago on October 14, she recently shared her frustration with the hosts on the “Hot Mics with Billy Bush” podcast. Hines had a heated interview with the panel, particularly with Sunny Hostin, over the credentials of Trump’s Health Secretary. Though cohost Sara Haines has since come out to defend Hines on her performance and Joy Behar says she wants more Republicans to appear on the show, the actress believed she was there only to be pelted with questions about her husband.
Hines says The View only wanted “to grill me about Bobby”
“I was actually hoping that it was going to be more personal on The View,” Hines said of her appearance on the show. “But it was what it was. They just wanted to grill me about Bobby.”
When asked if she could tell if someone had read her book, a memoir called “Unscripted” that is set to release later in November 2025, the actress replied, “Yes, I mean, I don’t think the ladies on The View asked me one question about my book.”
The only time the memoir was mentioned during the interview was at the end of the show with the camera showing the book’s cover on a stand. Donald Trump Jr., who appeared on The View in 2019, says that the panelists didn’t ask him a question about his book, “Triggered,” either.
Despite that, Hines has accepted what happened on the show. “But, you know, it’s okay,” she said. On whether any press is good press about her book, the actress replied, “That’s a good question. I don’t know. Yeah, I guess.”
Her upcoming book comes amid the release of another memoir, “American Canto,” written by journalist Olivia Nuzzi who reportedly shares the racy texts she had with RFK Jr. during his presidential campaign. It is rumored that publishers have intentionally timed the release of this book away from “Unscripted.”
