Prince Andrew Bullied Staff & Made Them Bow — Report

Prince Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, have reportedly agreed to vacate their residence at Royal Lodge. Amid all this, claims about the former Duke of York’s personality in the biography, “Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York,” have put him in the spotlight again. The unauthorized biography, written by Andrew Lownie, focused on the lives of Andrew and Ferguson. The book also highlighted how Andrew used to treat the royal staff and make “impossible demands” and peculiar requests.

Prince Andrew bullied staff and punished them for not meeting demands, says author

Andrew Lownie, the renowned historical writer, published a biography of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson on August 14. Now, in light of the former Duke and Duchess of York being asked to move out of the mansion, claims about his personality mentioned in the book have resurfaced.

According to Express, the author claimed that a source told him about Andrew’s treatment of royal staff and the bizarre requests he would make of them. As per a source quoted by author Lownie, the duke had a poor attitude toward his staff, believing they were “there to serve and not to question his actions.”

Lownie made various claims in his book that reflected on Andrew‘s personality. In the book, he wrote that Andrew was keen on everyone bowing to him whenever he entered a room. If any of the staff failed to do so, he would re-enter the room and ask them to try it again. The book even mentioned that he got one aide removed from his role because of a mole on his face that the prince didn’t like. He also relieved another staff member of the duties just for “wearing a nylon tie.”

Charlotte Biggs, a former maid, revealed to the Daily Mirror that Andrew was very particular about how his toys were lined up. Biggs told the news outlet, “As soon as I got the job, I was told about the teddies, and it was drilled into me how he wanted them. I even had a day’s training. Everything had to be just right. It was so peculiar.” She added that the former Duke of York used to get angry if his cuddly toys weren’t arranged neatly.

All in all, the book highlighted various events that claimed that Andrew wasn’t courteous toward the royal staff.
