Fans rally to see Sydney Sweeney as Marilyn Monroe after new clip
After featuring in an advert for Game 4 of the 2025 MLB World Series, Sydney Sweeney arrived at the Dodgers Stadium to watch the game. Former professional boxer Christy Martin, on whom Sweeney’s upcoming film is based, accompanied her in the stands.
The Euphoria actress arrived in a sporty outfit, pairing an unbuttoned Dodgers baseball jersey with a white top. Sweeney took to her Instagram story to post a few highlights from her outing. From these, one particular video caught the attention of fans.
In a three-second clip, Sweeney can be seen posing inside a vehicle caressing her shoulder. She shows off her new wavy short blonde haircut, with a diamond necklace around her neck, and fans agree that this look gives off an uncanny resemblance to Marilyn Monroe.
Meanwhile, on an X (formerly Twitter) post of the clip, a fan wrote, “She should do a biopic about Marilyn Monroe, she really gives me 50’s diva vibes.” A few other fans also replied, writing, “The Marilyn look,” and “Marylin Monroe vibes.”
As a result of her dramatic makeover for her latest film, Sweeney’s fresh haircut has fans drawing comparisons to Marilyn Monroe. The actress takes on the role of Christy Martin in the upcoming sports drama film Christy.
Directed by David Michôd, the film focuses on Martin’s journey as she goes from a small town in West Virginia to becoming a professional boxer. In September, the film initially premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and will come out in theaters on November 7, 2025.
