Justin Bieber recently shocked everyone with his comments on cheating and adultery. During a livestream on Twitch, he said, “If you even think of a woman with lust, it’s the same thing as actually doing it – committing adultery or whatever. If it even crosses your mind for one second, it’s wrong.”
Explaining his stance, relationship expert Louella Alderson told The Mirror US that the singer’s “extreme view of infidelity” might be “influenced by his religious beliefs.” She mentioned that Bieber’s point of view seemingly sets an “unrealistic” standard, which can be “guilt-inducing” for some people.
The source explained that a committed person having “fleeting attractions” did not necessarily mean “disloyalty or lack of love.” But if those thoughts progress, then it could become troublesome. Therefore, the “Baby” soloist’s stance seemed to be about “strong boundaries” and emotional stability.
Although she called it “rigid,” Alderson also mentioned that it might make him feel “emotionally safe.” However, the expert further warned, “Expecting your partner or yourself to never have an intrusive or fleeting thought about someone else, and calling it cheating if they do, can lead to unnecessary shame or conflict.”
Aside from his cheating comment, Bieber recently also made headlines for watching the World Series game. He and his wife, Hailey Bieber, attended the Toronto Blue Jays vs the Los Angeles Dodgers match at Dodgers Stadium on October 27. He wore a Blue Jays jersey and booed one of the players from the opposing team.
