Megyn Kelly isn’t impressed by Jamie Lee Curtis’ behavior after her Charlie Kirk comments
On Wednesday’s episode of The Megyn Kelly Show, the conservative host expressed frustration at Jamie Lee Curtis. She said the actress had been “completely dishonest” while trying to explain her apparent sympathy for Charlie Kirk.
At the time, Jamie seemed to get emotional while speaking about Kirk’s death. She said that while she disagreed with him, she believed “he was a man of faith”.
However, in an interview published this week, the actress said her comments were actually misconstrued. She told Variety: “An excerpt of it mistranslated what I was saying as I wished him well — like I was talking about him in a very positive way, which I wasn’t. I was simply talking about his faith in god.”
She added that she wasn’t afraid to speak her mind and be true to herself, even if her opinions seemed contradictory. She concluded: “You can’t say that, because you get vilified for having a mind that says, ‘I can hold both those thoughts. I can be contradictory in that way.’”
Megyn branded Jamie’s explanation “completely dishonest.” She the actress had “walked this back because she clearly got blowback over it,” adding that it “actively endangers those of us who are on the right and who are out here speaking to crowds and keep this conversation going.”
She continued: “If she really were this fearless person who would say anything — the consequences be damned — she wouldn’t feel such an urge to make sure people knew she was ‘mistranslated’ into people thinking that she wished him well, which she very much wants us to know she did not.”
