Sydney Sweeney ‘effectively sidelined’ by Hollywood, says source

Sydney Sweeney’s backlisted reports have surfaced amid the escalation of the American Eagle commercial controversy. She was reportedly in talks of being the next Bond girl in the upcoming movie of the popular franchise. However, a source told RadarOnline that the 28-year-old might not be “on any serious casting list.”

A senior casting executive mentioned that Sweeney seemed to be “effectively sidelined.” The Bond producers are meticulous about image and global appeal. “After the American Eagle scandal, she’s seen as too controversial – not bankable enough for such a politically sensitive franchise,” they added.

Furthermore, a PR strategist warned that Hollywood never forgets, referring to Sydney Sweeney’s controversies. “After that, major studios quietly stepped back from her. She’s been blacklisted by top producers who want to avoid online controversy,” they claimed.

Aside from the outburst due to the jeans commercial, the actress had also faced backlash in August 2022 for “racism.” Reportedly, guests at her family party wore red “Blue Lives Matter” clothes, which didn’t sit well with netizens.

Meanwhile, Sweeney recently stated that she was unaware of the Bond girl casting rumors, but was “excited” about the project. Speaking about whether she would be interested in the film, the bombshell replied, “[It] depends on the script.” “I think I’d have more fun as James Bond,” she quipped.”

The forthcoming movie is expected to be a huge success. “Peaky Blinders” creator Steven Knight will write the script, while “Dune” filmmaker Denis Villeneuve is set to direct. Moreover, Jeff Bezos’ Amazon MGM Studio will take creative control.
