Accusations against the former Prince Andrew have been public for years, so the monarchy’s recent move against him seems a bit overdue. But according to a new report, King Charles waited to officially remove Andrew’s titles until he could do it through royal channels.
King Charles was allegedly consulting legal guidance before taking action against Prince Andrew

The royal formerly known as Prince Andrew is now just plain old Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. It was announced yesterday that the disgraced ex-Duke would no longer have his prince title. He had previously announced his decision to give up his duke and other titles earlier this month.
The move is the result of the ongoing controversy surrounding his ties to Jeffrey Epstein. Accusations against Andrew first came to light six years ago.
The more cynical among us may note that these moves coincide with the release of Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre’s book. It details fresh claims about the wayward royal, including that he had an orgy with eight “underage-looking” girls.
But a new report claims that King Charles had been planning the move for a while. The monarch had to navigate complicated legal and constitutional processes before makings things official. He also needed to consult with members of the royal family, reports Us Weekly.
Then, with the new developments in the scandal, he opted for the quickest way to remove Andrew’s titles from the records. According to Us, Charles chose to handle it directly through Royal Warrants instead of asking Parliament to pass a new law. Drafting a law to abolish the dukedom completely would have taken much longer and pulled attention away from more pressing government matters.
Andrew has also been ordered to leave his 30-room mansion in Windsor.
