Many fans of The Today Show are wondering when host Hoda Kotb will be returning to the popular NBC morning show. There have been rumors that the 61-year-old host wished to return to Today in some capacity after she retired from the show in January. However, she has appeared numerous times on the morning show since September, and NBC has announced that Hoda will be returning for yet another popular segment soon.
Will Hoda Kotb be coming back to host Today?
Hoda Kotb will be coming to The Today Show as a single-day special host for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, which will take place on Thursday, November 27, at 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM and be aired on both NBC and Peacock.
Hoda will be providing live coverage of the parade alongside fellow hosts Savannah Guthrie and Al Roker. It wouldn’t be the first time she has hosted the event either, as she done so from 2018 to 2024. This will be the 99th edition of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, which NBC has broadcast since 1953.
In September, Hoda has appeared on The Today Show as a guest, sharing what she has been up to since retirement and hawking her new book, “Jump and Find Joy.” The former cohost has spent much of her time with her young daughters, Hope and Haley (who are in third and first grade), and overseeing her new business, an wellness app called Joy 101 that has an interactive app.
That said, an NBC insider previously said that Hoda has been “desperate” to return as a full host on the show since her business venture has been stagnant. It’s rumored that Guthrie has enjoyed her new position as lead anchor after Hoda’s retirement and is “not so anxious” for her to return in a permanent role.
Still, Today has yet to find a full replacement for Hoda since she left.
