As 2025 nears to a close, Kim Kardashian just gave us a contender for the best interview moment this year.
In an interview to promote her new show on Disney, Kim appeared alongside Sarah Paulson, who essentially acted as her translator when she was left confused over some British slang.
What is a “jacket potato,” anyway?

While being interviewed by Capital FM, Kim was asked if she is a big fan of “jacket potato.” Baffled by that question, the All’s Fair star replied: “Who?”
To that, both the interviewer and co-star Sarah started laughing, and again asked Kim if she likes “a jacket potato.”
“I don’t know what that is,” Kim replied, with the interviewer responding in total shock. “It’s a potato cooked in the skin,” the host explained, prompting Kim to finally reveal she “loves that.” Kim went on to add that her favourite “jacket potato fillings” are butter, sour cream, and bits of bacon. Sounds pretty tasty, if you ask us.
On social media, the response to Kim’s potato confusion has been just as expected. “Sarah being the ‘translator’ is sending me,” someone commented on the TikTok video, as another wrote: “Now this is journalism.”
Plenty of big-name brands got involved, too. “Right, that’s it! Packing a jacket potato PR box to Kim K as we speak,” potato giant McCain said on TikTok, while supermarket Lidl wrote: “Oh Kim sweetie, you have not lived.”
If, like Kim, you’re still unsure what a jacket potato actually is, it’s simple. A jacket potato is the British English term for a baked potato. The “jacket” refers to the potato skin, which becomes a crispy coating during the baking process, ensuring the inside stays soft and fluffy. Typically, British fillings include baked beans and cheese, or tuna with mayo.
