Millie Bobby Brown and husband Jake Bongiovi became parents earlier this year, adopting a baby girl over the summer. Since then, the pair have remained pretty private about their parenthood journey. And, in a new interview, Millie revealed their plans to continue doing just that.
Millie Bobby Brown won’t be going public with many details about her new baby daughter
Speaking to British Vogue this week, 21-year-old Millie explained she has no intention of going public with details about her daughter.
When asked to describe her daughter’s personality, the Stranger Things star shut down the request. “I’m not going to,” Millie said. “For me, it’s really important to protect her and her story until she’s old enough to potentially one day share it herself.”
“It’s not my place to purposefully put her in the spotlight unwillingly,” she said, before commenting on her own experience as a child star. “If she chooses to share her personality one day with the world, like I did when I was young, that’s something we’d support.”
Millie then added that because their daughter is “so little,” she and Jake are focusing on “protecting” her.
Speaking more broadly about how parenthood has been so far, Millie had some lovely words to share. “It’s been a beautiful, amazing journey,” she said. “The smaller things in life are so much more precious. Our days are filled with lots of cuddles and laughter, and love. It’s just endless joy.”
Next, Millie commented on how she and Jake split their duties as new parents. “We are 50-50 on everything,” she said. “That’s why I’m so grateful to have partnered with him in this life. He is just the most amazing dad.”
Millie’s interview with British Vogue comes amid speculation about a rumored rift between her and Stranger Things co-star David Harbour, who plays her adopted dad on the show.
