Bad Bunny received advice from his friend singer Marc Anthony for the Latin superstar’s upcoming Super Bowl LX halftime performance. The Puerto Rico-born singer is headlining the show on February 8.
Marc performed “America the Beautiful” with Mary J. Blige at Super Bowl XXXVI – Pre Game Show at the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans in 2002.
Marc Anthony gave some advice to Bad Bunny ahead of his Super Bowl Halftime Show performance

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Marc said he emphasized how important it is to represent the Latin community. “I tell him to just to be responsible with the risk [and] with the responsibility that he’s taking on, because I’m sure for him, he sees this as a massive responsibility to represent not only his culture, but his music,” Marc explained. “He’s going to work that much harder to bring an amazing show, and I’m looking forward to it.”
Marc and Bad Bunny, born Benito Martínez Ocasio, have been friends for about 10 years and performed together in the past. Marc joined Bad Bunny on stage September 20 at the rapper’s Debí Tirar Más Fotos concert. This was Bad Bunny’s final show of his sold-out hometown residency.
The “Vivir Mi Via” singer will be at the game to support Bad Bunny. “I’ll definitely be there, and I’ll be the first one cheering him on,” Marc told Rolling Stone.
There has been much controversy surrounding Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl performance. Much of this is due to his criticism of the Trump Administration’s immigration policies. A Change.org petition has been circulating calling for country musician George Strait to replace Bad Bunny. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell responded to the backlash, saying he has confidence the performance will be great.
Marc addressed the tense climate surrounding Bad Bunny’s scheduled performance, saying, “I’m proud of what he’s been able to accomplish in terms of spreading his gospel and that type of music, and the level he’s taken it to.”
