William talked about the nightly message on November 5 during a conversation with Christiane Amanpour at the Earthshot Prize Impact Assembly in Rio de Janeiro. The event highlights projects that aim to address major environmental challenges. At one point in the interview, he described the line he repeats for George, Charlotte, and Louis before they go to bed each night.
He shared, “You have to provide leadership and a vision that there’s good things to come and that it’s not all negative and for my children particularly, knowing the planet’s going to be in a healthier, better state because of the brilliant people in this room is something that I love to tell them when they go to bed.”
He later added another line he uses with the kids. “It’s like, it’s going to be great. Your future is going to be as bright as futures gone by,” he said. “That’s a really important message for all of us to hear.”
