Cohost Alyssa Farah Griffin shared one of her most embarrassing moments on The View. The 36-year-old former press secretary admitted on the Friday, November 7, episode of the popular ABC talk show that she accidentally talked about former New York City mayor Bill de Blasio within earshot of his girlfriend. Griffin, who occasionally appears on panels at CNN, described her reaction to being caught during the Hot Topic segment of the show where they discussed the value of men having a woman in their lives.
Griffin was “bright red” when she was caught by politician’s girlfriend
While The View cohosts talked about “man-keeping” at the table, Griffin said, “There’s also countless stats about how having a woman in your life, a female partner, as a man, improves you overall.”
As an example, she spoke about an unnamed girlfriend of Bill de Blasio who was responsible for one of the mayor’s “glow-ups,” though the way Griffin learned about it was embarrassing.
“I’m sitting at CNN with a table of people, the TV is on, and I see former Mayor Bill de Blasio is on and he was looking better than ever,” she explained, pointing to how his natural gray hair looked better than his former attempts at dyeing it.
“I just blurt out, ‘I’m so glad he stopped dyeing his hair that weird color,'” Griffin continued. “Next to me, a beautiful woman goes, ‘Oh, he’s my boyfriend, but, don’t worry, I told him to get it back to his natural hair.”
Griffin finished the story by saying that women can sometimes save men from themselves, before fellow cohost Sara Haines chimed in, “Alyssa, that’s mortifying.”
“I was so embarrassed, I was bright red, I was apologizing,” the conservative cohost admitted. But at least the mayor’s girlfriend took her comment in stride. “She was lovely about it, but that’s why you need women in your life.”
Bill de Blasio has been the subject of rants from Bravo host Andy Cohen in the past.
