Cristiano Ronaldo made an appearance on the Piers Morgan interview and revealed all about his fitness routine. The star footballer was asked how he manages to stay fit and healthy at 40. To this, Ronaldo explained the entire journey and how he maintains his physique. He said it’s all about recovery and steady habits.
Cristiano Ronaldo shares his routine for maintaining his physique
Piers Morgan looked in awe of Cristiano Ronaldo‘s remarkable physique, even at 40 years old. He asked the Al-Nassr forward’s consent to target his core muscles. After doing so, Morgan laughed, saying it felt hard like “granite” and very different from the body he had.
Morgan then continued by saying that Ronaldo does not look 40, but rather like a 28-year-old. The host asked him if he agreed with the motion. To this, Ronaldo replied, “No. Physically, I think I look much younger, of course. I started going to the gym when I was 12, 13, 14, 15.” (via Piers Morgan Uncensored)
The interviewer was then curious if Ronaldo had been steadily having a workout for all these years, and the Portuguese footballer said, “No, not every day. But I try to maintain consistency in my life.”
Ronaldo continued to describe his daily habits, which have helped him maintain a good physique. This is especially helpful when a person is not consistently going to the gym. He explained, “I sleep well. I follow good routines and recover properly. I train in the gym two or three times a week with weights. Two times per week is enough for me because I burn so much doing football. It’s just consistency — if you have consistency, it’s easy. Trust me.”
Later in the Piers Morgan interview, the 60-year-old asked Cristiano Ronaldo if there was a celebrity or any other sportsperson who inspires him the most. To this, the footballer replied that he is inspired by himself. This reflects that his own discipline and personal standards drive him more than comparison to others.
