Actions have consequences, and the word on the street is that Snoop Dogg could be learning that lesson the hard way. Remember earlier this year when he made those completely unnecessary homophobic comments? Allegedly, network executives haven’t forgotten about it, and his job on The Voice might be on the line.
Snoop Dogg is being “considered” for the boot at NBC’s The Voice, according to a report

Of course, it barely made sense for Snoop to be judging a show about vocalists in the first place, considering he isn’t one. Still, the show hired him amid a larger deal he inked with NBCUniversal.
In addition to The Voice, their partnership includes his Olympics coverage and a potential biopic. However, journalist Rob Shuter shared in his Substack that the executives are considering pulling the plug on all of it. He’s on “thin ice.”
“There’s genuine fear of advertiser revolt,” a source allegedly said of the situation. “This is a family brand. We cannot risk culture-war headlines.”
As a reminder, Snoop said earlier this year on a podcast how he felt “scared” to take kids to movies that could have LGBTQ characters. The rapper said he struggled watching Lightyear with his grandson because the movie featured a lesbian couple with a baby.
Snoop said, “I didn’t come here for this sh*t, I just came to watch the goddamn movie! I’m scared to go to the movies now, y’all throwing me in the middle of sh*t that I don’t have an answer for!”
Since then, he has changed his tune. He partnered with GLAAD and dropped a “kids’ song” called Love Is Love. However, that’s all starting to look less like allyship and more like a desperate attempt to save a sinking, multimillion-dollar ship.
Earlier this week, NBC confirmed that Snoop Dogg’s New Year’s Eve will no longer move forward at the network. The previously announced special was set to air live on their NBC stations, along with Peacock. Insiders close to the situation believe his role on The Voice will be next, despite his desperate attempts to clean up the situation.
“The New Year’s axing was the warning shot,” a source said. “The Voice could be the execution.”
The Voice airs on Monday nights at 9/8c. It’s also streaming on Peacock.
