Survivor 49 is getting deep into the game, with ten players left standing after an eventful merge. After a blindside that eliminated Nate Moore, four original Uli members, four Hina, and two Kele players remain. Survivor 49 has been one of the most eventful New Era seasons so far, with two tribe swaps in the pre-merge. This season also features an electric cast, with varying personalities and strengths.

While Survivor 49 has been exciting for fans, there is understandably more hype about the upcoming Survivor 50. Survivor 50 will be the first returnee season in five years, which will feature twenty-four returning players. While some seasons were skipped entirely, Jeff Probst has announced that two players from Survivor 49 will return. So which two players are they?

Survivor fans were surprised when Jeff Probst revealed that two players from Survivor 49 had been selected for Survivor 50

The casting process for Survivor 50 was pretty controversial. In the end, twelve players were chosen from the old Survivor Era, while the other twelve hail from the New Era. Many longtime Survivor fans were frustrated that more old-school players weren’t chosen to return. On the other hand, newer fans were excited to see a fair amount of familiar faces from the New Era on the cast list.

At the end of the Survivor 50 cast announcement, Jeff revealed that two Survivor 49 players had been chosen to play again. This was a shock to many viewers, as so many previous players had been cut early on in the casting process. Since the casting for Survivor 50 has been extremely competitive, viewers assumed that the players from 49 must’ve made a significant impact on the game to stand out.

After the top eleven players on Survivor 49 merged, Jeff gave them a pep talk about 50. He claimed that casting was wide open and that spots were available for anyone who made a strong enough impact on the season. This seemed to light a spark for many players, who were encouraged to step up their gameplay.

Rizo Velovic was allegedly cast on Survivor 50 after making a strong mark on the game

The first player from Survivor 49 who’s rumored to have played again on 50 is Rizo Velovic. Rizo started the season on the original Uli tribe, where he solidified himself in a core four alliance. Later on, after being swapped to Hina, Rizo stayed loyal to his fellow original Uli members to take out two former Hinas. Other notable moments for Rizo included him infamously cheating on a puzzle to win tribe supplies, as well as very publicly finding a beware advantage.

Rizo’s edit on Survivor 49 so far has highlighted his quirky personality while also complementing his gameplay. The self-proclaimed “Riz God” always has some funny commentary and even called out Jeff for being tired after a challenge. However, Rizo has also proven himself to be a well-rounded player. He performs well in challenges, is an excellent social player, and knows how to strategize as well. Rizo is a unique player, so it’s not surprising that he got called back to play on Survivor 50.

Savannah Louie was also cast, with some fans speculating that she may have won Survivor 49

The other player from Survivor 49 allegedly cast on Season 50 is Savannah Louie. Like Rizo, Savannah started out on the original Uli tribe. She was part of the same core four alliance and was later swapped to New Hina as well. Savannah has proved herself to be an aggressive player, most recently by attempting to steal MC Chukwujekwu’s keys from her beware advantage. Her edit has been somewhat villainous, which may have played a part in her callback for 50.

Shortly after the Survivor 50 cast was announced, alleged tribe divisions leaked online. Savannah’s alleged tribe was the only one without a previous winner. This led some fans to speculate that Savannah may have won Survivor 49. While Savannah does seem to have a target on her back, it’s possible that she got to the end and won. However, it’s also possible that Survivor 50 will have a tribe without a winner.

Survivor is available to stream on Paramount+.
