Millie Bobby Brown talks about her character
Millie Bobby Brown discussed her preparation for the final season of Stranger Things during Netflix’s FYC event in Hollywood on November 9, attended by the main cast and creators Ross and Matt Duffer.
Speaking about her evolution as Eleven, Brown said, “I feel like the Duffers have been training me for this moment,” explaining that the character’s arc this season is more physically driven than emotional. She added, “It was really exciting to be more of a resource this season, not just because of her powers but also her physical training and attributes that she’s put herself through.” (via The Hollywood Reporter)
Brown shared that she approached her stunts differently this year, saying, “It was really fun, I definitely channeled my inner Tom Cruise.” She noted that the first volume “only touches on what she’s been training for.” Brown hinted that later episodes will explore the results of Eleven’s preparation.
Her co-star, Noah Schnapp, reflected on his own experience, joking that his character Will rarely smiles. He said he mapped out the entire storyline before filming because of the show’s complex structure. Ross Duffer responded humorously, saying, “Good thing there’s not a season six or we’d be writing you out.”
Ross Duffer said the team added new cast members like Linda Hamilton to honor “’80s legends.” He noted that her character combines intellect with strong combat skills. Matt Duffer added that Nell Fisher joins as Holly Wheeler to recapture the youthful spirit of Season 1. He joked about earlier challenges working with animals, saying the Byers family’s dog “didn’t hit his mark.” Brown quipped back, “Because we’ve lost it, apparently.”
Stranger Things Season 5 will debut in three parts on Netflix—dropping on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve.
