Orlando Bloom and Rachel Lynn Matthews’ joke at Katy Perry’s expense did not go over well – to some people. Rachel dressed up as Orlando’s ex-fiancée Katy for Halloween and posted a selfie on social media with Orlando. The costume, a blue metallic jumpsuit with a brunette wig, was emulating Katy’s Blue Origin space trip attire. Orlando dressed as a skeleton with elaborate face paint.
Rachel also posted a photo where she kissed the ground like Katy did after her 11-minute Blue Origin space flight. She included a caption, “TAKE UP SPACE!!”

Those on social media criticized Rachel’s photos as making fun of Katy. Orlando and Katy split this past June after dating for almost a decade. Orlando and Rachel did not specify whether they were together at the party or if they are, in fact, dating.
Katy and Orlando first met at a Golden Globes afterparty in 2016 and made their relationship Instagram official on May 19 of that year. Orlando celebrated Thanksgiving with the Roar singer’s family a few months later.
But the couple’s romance was a rocky one. The two broke up briefly in February 2017, before reuniting a year later in Prague. They reignited their relationship publicly on September 26, 2018 at the Gala for the Global Ocean at the Opera of Monte-Carlo in Monaco.
On Valentine’s Day 2019, Orlando proposed to Katy with dinner and a helicopter ride to an LA rooftop. Her entire family and friends were there to witness the event.
However, a wedding was not in the cards. The couple’s daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom, was born August 27, 2020. Less than four years later, the couple called it quits.
In September, Orlando revealed he is still on good terms with Katy, saying “We’re great. We’re going to be great. Nothing but love.”
