Ruby Rose Accuses Sydney Sweeney of Hating Gay People

The hits just keep on coming for Sydney Sweeney. Actress Ruby Rose slammed the actress and called her a “cretin,” insinuating that she hates gay people. It’s not looking pretty for the Euphoria star, who has already turned a lot of fans off with her views (or lack of views) and even her choice of beau. She’s now getting flak for her latest movie role, too.

Ruby Rose said “none of ‘the people’ want to see someone who hates them”

RadarOnline revealed that Ruby hit out at Sydney about playing Christy Martin in the movie biopic about the US boxer. The movie flopped at the box office, having made just over $1 million in its opening weekend.

Ruby called the original screenplay incredible and life-changing. She shared that she originally attached to the film to play Cherry (which most netizens assume is Christy).

“Everyone had experience with the core material,” Ruby said. “Most of us were actually gay. It’s part of why I stayed in acting. Losing roles happens all the time. For her PR to talk about it flopping and saying SS did for ‘the people.’”

Ruby explained that “none of ‘the people’” want to see someone who hates them parading around “pretending to be us.” She called Sydney “a cretin” and said that she ruined the film.

“Christy deserved better,” she concluded.

The boxer, who was famous in the 1990s with 49 wins, joined the promo trail for the movie and was often photographed with Sydney.

Sydney has been a growing target for many since speaking about her political beliefs. She also came under scrutiny for her American Eagle commercial and for appearing to have no stance on white supremacy, which some say is a stance in itself.

She also faced backlash for her mom’s 60th birthday, which featured “Make Sixty Great Again” caps and shirts that said “Blue Lives Matter.”

As for Sydney, she took to social media to share how proud she was of the film. “Proud to represent someone as strong and resilient as Christy Martin. This experience has been one of the greatest honors of my life.”
