Sabrina Carpenter has a big surprise in store for fans as the singer is set to star in an upcoming musical movie adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s famous 1865 novel, “Alice in Wonderland.” However, she will not stop with the acting job. She will also reportedly produce Universal Pictures’ new project, along with Marc Platt, who is the producer of “Wicked” and its upcoming sequel, “Wicked: For Good.” The news was confirmed by the studio on November 11.

Sabrina Carpenter will not only act but also produce the musical film adaptation of the beloved novel, “Alice in Wonderland,” by Lewis Carroll. The title of the upcoming movie has not been revealed yet. As per E! News, Lorene Scafaria will serve as both the writer and director of the project. The filmmaker has previously helmed several notable movies like “Hustlers,” “Seeking a Friend for the End of the World,” and “The Meddler.” She has also directed well-known TV series, including “New Girl” and “Succession.”
This upcoming adaptation will arrive more than seventy years after the premiere of Disney’s animated classic. Moreover, it will be released over fifteen years after the “Alice in Wonderland” live-action film. The movie starred Mia Wasikowska, Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway, and Johnny Depp, among others. As for the upcoming adaptation of “Alice in Wonderland,” the studio has yet to disclose the cast and plot of the new musical.
