An incident involving a fan in Singapore appears to have taken a psychological toll on Ariana Grande.
The singer and actress was attending a premiere on the yellow carpet at Universal Studios with Cynthia Erivo, her co-star in Wicked: For Good. Someone jumped the rails, grabbing the mega star on Thursday.
Thankfully, no physical harm was done; mentally and emotionally, however, it’s a different story. In situations like what transpired in Singapore, an insider said that for Ariana, it’s “almost like PTSD, as her mind immediately goes to the worst-case scenario.”
Security eventually intervened, escorting that perpetrator away.
Ariana Grande was “triggered” by the fan attack

For all of the wonderful memories Ariana has had in her career, there are surely some moments she’ll want to erase.
Among the most horrifying was a terrorist attack following one of her concerts at the Manchester Arena in 2017. That bombing killed 22 of her fans, many of whom were children, while thousands were hurt.
Ariana may have emerged from that unscathed, but the traumatic toll appears to still be with her. An insider told the Daily Mail that “when someone suddenly approaches or charges at her, it triggers her.”
The plot to get to Ariana was supposedly coordinated by Johnson Wen. You may know him better by the pseudonym Pyjama Man on social media. It seems he has a habit of harassing celebrities, previously targeting Katy Perry and The Weekend. In one particularly uncomfortable video, he talks about getting to meet his best friend, adding that it’s a moment he’s been “dreaming about.”
Before any harm could come to Ariana, Cynthia intervened, pushing the fan away. Ariana will be upping her security as she prepares for more upcoming movie premiere appearances.
Wicked: For Good debuted in Brazil on November 4. It comes out in theatres across the United States on November 21.
