Ariana Grande experienced a scary moment on Thursday, Nov. 13, when a fan broke through security and grabbed her on the yellow brick road carpet at the “Wicked: For Good” premiere in Singapore. The singer, who stars as Glinda in the upcoming film, was walking the carpet with co-stars Michelle Yeoh, Cynthia Erivo and Jeff Goldblum at Universal Studios Singapore when the incident unfolded.

Multiple videos circulating online captured the moment from different angles. As Grande made her way along the carpet, a man in a white shirt and shorts suddenly sprinted toward her, spinning around to pull her. The man, identifiable by his long black hair streaked with blue, wrapped an arm around Grande, prompting her to pull away. Cynthia Erivo, who plays Elphaba in the film, reacted immediately, rushing toward them and stepping between Grande and the intruder while visibly shouting at him.
Security personnel quickly followed, removing the man from the area and restoring order on the carpet. Grande appeared visibly shaken in footage shared online, taking deep breaths as Erivo and Michelle Yeoh comforted her in the moments afterwards. Fans swiftly identified the individual as Johnson Wen, known online as “Pyjama Man.” He later posted his own video of the incident on Instagram with a caption reading: “Dear Ariana Grande, thank you for letting me jump on the yellow carpet with you.”
A user named Diana Daytona uploaded additional footage, claiming the intruder attempted to approach Grande multiple times. “I’m so mad. This is so scary… and he even tried another time before he was finally kicked out,” she wrote. Viewers reacted across social media platforms with alarm and concern for Grande’s safety. “Security was WAY too slow,” one fan commented, while another wrote, “Moments like this are scary.”
