Jessica Simpson and her estranged husband, Eric Johnson, have allegedly been getting closer to their divorce. The “The Dukes of Hazzard” actor and the former professional footballer are reportedly in a feud regarding what their 13-year-old daughter, Maxwell, should do in her future.
As reported by the Daily Mail, a source told them that at first, Jessica Simpson “was eager to seek help and hopefully put their family back together.” The person continued, “But now that she’s been on her own for over a year, she’s beginning to like the feeling of freedom she now has.”
They then explained, “And while they have yet to work out the problems that caused the split, a new wrinkle has appeared, as their eldest daughter wants to pursue an acting career.” The source claimed, “And it’s one more thing they don’t agree on.”
In the meantime, an insider told the news outlet that Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson’s daughter, “Maxwell is her mom’s mini-me and she’s the most like Jessica of all the kids.” The person continued, “She idolizes her mother and is chomping at the bit to follow in her famous footsteps.”
The source further explained, “Maxi, as her mom calls her, is super talented.” The person continued, “She likes to sing, is very creative, and has been looking over her mom’s shoulder.” They added, “While she works on her clothing and jewelry designs.”
