Margot Robbie’s latest movie flop is taking a toll on her personal life.
A Big Bold Beautiful Journey had an estimated budget of over $40 million, collecting just over half of that amount at the box office. The Academy Award nominee is reportedly determined for that not to happen again, but this recent movie disaster is causing tension with her husband, Tom Ackerley. Because of its poor box office numbers, “the finger-pointing and blame games have already begun,” according to an insider.
Tom, a movie producer, has been married to the Barbie actress since 2016.
Margot Robbie’s latest film flopped after a decision “made together” with husband Tom Acklerley

While the film, co-starring Colin Farrell, isn’t from their production company, LuckyChap Entertainment, it wouldn’t have been made had Margot not signed on. Being a part of the movie was apparently a decision “she and Tom made together,” an insider told RadarOnline.
“Stronger couples have fallen apart over this stuff, and now Margot and Tom are also feeling the pressure around their next film,” the insider continues.
Their company have produced some big box office hits, none bigger than Barbie, which grossed over $1 billion. Birds of Prey meanwhile picked up over $200 million.
By all accounts, Wuthering Heights’ box office performance could determine whether the couple’s marriage is sustainable. They have a lot riding on that film starring Margot and Jacob Elordi being a success. Last month, Margot and Pedro Pascal were seen posing together, generating plenty of online buzz.
Margot’s current movie is in post-production. Early reports indicate the upcoming project “looks far from the surefire success that Barbie became,” per the insider. LuckyChap produced I, Tonya, which earned Margot an Oscar nomination for Best Actress. Barbie, meanwhile, was nominated for a Best Picture Oscar in 2024.
In 2023, Margot was named the world’s highest-paid actress by Forbes.
