Isla Fisher Opens Up About the ‘Fun’ Side After Divorce

Isla Fisher is entering a new chapter, one shaped by self-reflection, hard-won clarity, and a rediscovered sense of joy. While promoting “Now You See Me 3,” the actress has been candid about navigating life post-divorce, describing the transition as unexpectedly empowering. Instead of dwelling on difficulties, Fisher says she focuses on rebuilding herself in ways that feel authentic and long overdue.

Isla Fisher believes ‘rebuilding your sense of self’ is fun part after divorce

During a recent conversation with New Beauty, Fisher spoke openly about what she calls the “new identity” phase of life after divorce. The experience, she says, is filled with challenges but also surprising moments of delight.  “I feel like creating a new identity after your divorce is so fun, though,” she said.

The actress explained that while ending a marriage comes with its own kind of grief, the aftermath can also spark a period of meaningful reinvention.

Fisher described it as a chance to re-examine her values, revisit old interests, and allow long-standing friendships to take center stage again. “You get to rebuild your sense of self,” she said, adding that the process feels both freeing and deeply grounding. According to Fisher, this reset has allowed her to reconnect with passions she’d set aside while raising her children.

Her reflections come amid a hectic press tour for “Now You See Me 3,” which she’s been tackling with her trademark humor and resilience. Fisher joked about feeling overwhelmed at times. Still, she expressed gratitude for being at a stage in her career where she can enjoy the work without guilt. With her children now older, she says traveling feels less complicated.

Moreover, being back with her castmates has become a form of “self-care” for Fisher. “Honestly, a lot of my self-care is simply trying to keep myself happy, and being with them does just that,” she added.
