Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s world keeps shrinking.
The now-commoner has faced intense scrutiny for years because of his ties to Jeffrey Epstein. King Charles stripped Andrew of his royal title, pushed him out of Royal Lodge, and removed many privileges that once came with being a senior royal.
Now, a new report claims Andrew might lose something far more personal. A recent newsletter from British journalist Rob Shuter reported that Charles is “preparing to seize” the late Queen Elizabeth’s corgis, Muick and Sandy, from Andrew.

Rob’s #ShuterScoop Substack alleged that the king doesn’t feel Andrew is “capable” of caring for them. It also claimed the pups need a “more stable home — and better judgment around them.” He says these concerns have sparked fresh debate inside the palace about where the dogs should go.
A senior courtier also spoke out and said that Queen Elizabeth would “never” have left the dogs with Andrew’s (now former) live-in ex, Sarah Ferguson. The courtier added that “Charles knows that better than anyone.”
Us Weekly confirmed that the animals will stay within the royal family, though they didn’t elaborate on who that would be.
The dogs originally went to Andrew and Sarah after Queen Elizabeth’s death. Sarah has repeatedly discussed their bond. “I have her dogs. I have her corgis, so every morning they come in and go, ‘Woof, woof’ and all that and I’m sure it’s her talking to me,” Sarah said in May.
She later told Us Weekly that the dogs remains settled and supported. “They’re all doing very well. They’re all very lovely and very, very loved!”
For now, the corgis remain comfortable in their routine. However, Andrew’s shrinking role within the family continues to shape what happens next.
