Kate Middleton is stressing the importance of perinatal mental health awareness.
The Princess of Wales penned an emotional letter recently to the Maternal Mental Health Alliance (MMHA). She has been a patron of theirs since 2022. The group is preparing for a special exhibit entitled Motherhood: Portraits of Mental Health, Strength and Survival. The photographic exhibition focuses on the realities of mental health before, during and after pregnancy.
It centers around 10 women and their stories and struggles with the mental health condition. Artist Carolyn Mendelsohn created the exhibition.
Kate Middleton spoke of “unseen” mental health struggles

Mental health causes are ones many members of the royal family have spoken out about before.
Kate’s letter to the MMHA is sure to resonate with anyone going through similar challenges at some point during a pregnancy.
The MMHA shared the letter on Instagram. Kate says regarding the stories of those women at the heart of the exhibition: “They remind us that no one should have to navigate the perinatal journey alone.” “This is Also Motherhood explores the often unseen realities of mental health throughout pregnancy and beyond,” the letter adds.
Many people applauded the Princess for her thoughtful and heartfelt letter and for supporting this worthwhile cause. During her three pregnancies, Kate experienced severe morning sickness. That is the least of her worries these days, however, with the Princess confirming last year she was dealing with an unspecified form of cancer. In January of this year, though, after undergoing chemotherapy, she confirmed she was cancer-free.
Last month, an insider claimed that the wife of Prince William was in an intense feud with Queen Camilla.
The MMHA is an award-winning charity and network with over 130 member organizations, parents, and clinicians. Their goal is to ensure all families impacted by perinatal mental health problems get the quality, compassionate care they need.
