Liev Schreiber Reportedly Hospitalized After Health Scare

A new report has brought fresh attention to one of the most concerning updates involving Liev Schreiber. The development outlines how he was rushed to a New York hospital after a sudden health scare, prompting widespread questions about his condition and the tests doctors conducted.

What happened to Liev Schreiber?

Liev Schreiber was hospitalized at a New York City hospital on Sunday, November 16, after experiencing a massive headache.

TMZ reported that the actor alerted his doctor, who instructed him to seek immediate medical attention. He remained under hospital care into Monday, November 17, while undergoing a series of tests to determine the cause.

According to his representative, “out of an abundance of caution, Liev went into the hospital for testing and as of this afternoon, he has been cleared to return to work.”

People confirmed that he stayed overnight and that his doctors continued evaluating him the following day. TMZ sources said doctors did not yet know the nature of the problem. They noted that he could “speak and walk without any issues and has the full use of his limbs.”

The hospitalization follows Schreiber’s previously disclosed medical incident from April 2024. He told Late Night with Seth Meyers that a severe migraine during his Broadway run in Doubt: A Parable triggered an episode of transient global amnesia. He recalled, “I was in my dressing room and I had a terrible headache,” adding that he realized “this is not normal. I don’t feel okay.” He said he could not remember costar Amy Ryan’s name and later walked onstage unable to recall his lines.

An MRI later showed “no brain bleed” and that his brain looked “perfectly fine.” A neurologist informed him that he had experienced transient global amnesia, a rare condition defined by sudden memory loss and confusion. The Cleveland Clinic lists migraines, physical exertion, emotional stress, and sudden temperature changes as potential triggers.

Schreiber’s representatives have not shared additional details, and doctors have not determined the source of his latest symptoms. His team confirmed that he has been cleared to resume work.
