Sarah Ferguson needs a fresh start in the worst way.
The former Duchess of York believes she may get that by moving out of the UK. The ex-wife of disgraced royal Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has had her name dragged through the mud for weeks. It’s all due to her previous association with Jeffrey Epstein, the disgraced late sex offender.
“She’s looking for an escape – from the U.K., from Andrew’s orbit and from the stain of the Epstein saga that has hung over them both,” an insider revealed. Although they divorced years ago, Andrew and Sarah have reportedly remained close until recently.
She hopes a new place won’t attract as much unwanted attention and will let her live in peace without the stigma of Andrew attached to her.

Portugal seems to be on her list of preferred destinations. It’s a move that many are deeming a strategic withdrawal. Whether it’s Portugal or another foreign country, getting out of the UK may be the best thing for her. “Moving abroad is the only real opportunity she has to piece together anything resembling a normal life,” an insider told RadarOnline.
Earlier this year, e-mails resurfaced of Sarah calling Jeffrey a “supreme friend.” That revelation followed years of coverage of her ex-husband’s affiliation with Jeffrey, who allegedly had the late Virginia Giuffre trafficked to the former Prince. Sarah also previously admitted to borrowing money from Jeffrey to pay off her debts.
A move to Portugal would not be a completely out-of-the-blue decision. Sarah’s daughter, Princess Eugenie, and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, divide their time between the UK and Portugal. This week, it was reported that Sarah “feared further humiliation,” after Andrew’s eviction from the Royal Lodge.
While Sarah and Andrew’s titles were removed, their daughters Eugenie and Princess Beatrice were allowed to keep theirs.
