Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones seems to be trying to stay positive following their previous game. After a heartbreaking loss against the Denver Broncos on Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs now stand at 5-5 in the AFC West division. Jones later took to his Instagram story to repost a Kanye West X post, slamming critics who say the Chiefs won’t make it to the playoffs.
Chris Jones posted Kanye West’s tweet as a response
Jones took to his Instagram story on Monday, sharing a post from The Hip Hop Lab containing a Kanye West quote that the rapper posted on X. The post read, “They act like you can’t lose a few games and still win the championship.” Jones seemingly directed this towards the criticism received after the Chiefs’ 22-19 loss to the Broncos on Sunday.
However, this result put the team in a very tough position to qualify for the playoffs. On the other hand, the Denver Broncos are now 9-2 after their win against the Chiefs, as they continue to dominate the AFC West division.
While speaking with the media after the game, as per US Weekly, Jones expressed his disappointment, saying, “It’s a tough game, it’s a division game, and you never really feel good after a loss.” He further continued, “That’s a lot of lessons you can learn after a loss. I think for us, most importantly, coming together as a team, self-evaluation’s at an all-time high, sense of urgency’s at an all-time high, and critiquing.”
Ever since the Chiefs picked him in the second round of the 2016 NFL draft, Jones has been loyal to the team. The 31-year-old defensive tackle with his team will soon face the Indianapolis Colts at Arrowhead Stadium on November 23. The Colts currently stand at a record of 8-2, as they are currently dominating the AFC South division.
