When you think of the FBI’s most wanted, a former pro snowboarder probably doesn’t spring to mind. But authorities have revealed that former Olympian Ryan Wedding is among their ten most wanted criminals. From drug trafficking to multiple murders, his alleged crimes are pretty shocking…
Ryan Wedding is facing a new murder charge and is one of the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives

Talk about a fall from grace. Ryan Wedding was once a respected athlete, representing Canada at the 2002 Winter Olympics. But the former pro snowboarder’s life has taken a dark turn since.
At a Wednesday press conference, the FBI announced that Ryan — also known as “El Jefe” and “Giant” — is now on their most-wanted list. The former athlete is allegedly part of a violent drug cartel based in Mexico.
Authorities accuse him of running drug operations and ordering dozens of killings across America. Most recently, he is alleged to have ordered the killing of a federal witness. Authorities say he paid about C$10,000 ($7,000) to get photos of the witness posted on a fake news website in October 2024, hoping it would help track him down. The FBI has since taken the site offline.
Officials say the former Olympian is a modern-day Pablo Escobar. FBI Director Kash Patel said he is “responsible for engineering a narco trafficking and narco terrorism programme that we have not seen in a long time,” per the BBC. There is currently a $15 million reward for information leading to his arrest.
Ryan is said to be living in Mexico under the protection of the Sinaloa drug cartel. His own drug trafficking ring is reportedly the largest supplier of cocaine to Canada, with an annual profit of $1 billion a year. The operation reportedly works across North America.
