North West recently appeared in her mother, Kim Kardashian’s, brand, SKIMS’ new collaboration campaign with Cactus Plant Flea Market. While many praised her inclusion in the ad, others criticized the decision to feature a 12-year-old in an adult-focused brand. However, it’s worth noting that West wasn’t styled in any adult attire; she simply wore a cozy coord set from the collaboration.
Kim Kardashian called out after daughter North West appears in SKIMS ad
North West recently appeared in SKIMS x Cactus Plant Flea Market’s commercial, sporting a holiday-inspired cozy hoodie and pant set. She styled her blue hair in a braid, pairing it with minimal pearl jewelry and minimal makeup. This campaign was also posted on SKIMS’s social media, revealing that these limited-edition collaboration products will launch on November 20 at 12 PM ET.
Some took to social media to call out Kardashian for including her daughter in an adult brand campaign. A user said, “Chasing money and clout by sexualizing yourself is always an L at the end.” Another one wrote, “The world we knew before is pretty much gone morally.” Another user mentioned, “Leaving kids with women is not the best option. I hope Kanye West acts fast now before it’s too late.”
A fourth user, referring to a compilation clip of Kim in a bikini and West in a collaboration attire, noted, “As someone who despises the Kardashians, this video is misleading af. Pretty sure the clips of Kim are from a campaign from YEARS ago. What’s with the mashup? If Skims is dropping for kids who cares don’t buy it or stfu.”
Despite the backlash, there were some fans who loved the collaboration and appreciated West’s unique style. One fan wrote, “Beautiful mix of Mom and dad with dad’s personality!” Another said, “She’s starting to look more like her mom!!” Other reactions also included “her voice sounds so different now <3,” and “North is growing up so fast! I didn’t even realize this was her at first (in the best way!).”
