Andrew Mountbatten-Windor may have been her favorite son, but Queen Elizabeth never warmed up to his now ex-wife. There may be a good reason for the late Queen’s resentment towards Sarah Ferguson, Years ago, the now-former Duchess of York offered information about Andrew. The offer came in exchange for money in the reported six-figure range in a scandal that was caught on tape.
That apparently left the Queen in a state of outrage like never before. It could have also made Sarah a permanent enemy of the Queen.
Queen Elizabeth is said to have found Sarah Ferguson “remorseless” after being caught

The cash-for-access scandal involving her favorite son seemed to leave the Queen with a permanent grudge against her former daughter-in-law. “Sarah’s misconduct left everlasting interpersonal consequences between herself and Her Majesty,” said insider Andrew Lownie on his Substack The Lownie Report.
The Queen allegedly refered to Sarah as “The Duchess of Deceit.” According to the insider, Elizabeth labelled Sarah as “remorseless”. While Sarah’s bribe was supposedly a one-time thing, the Queen apparently never forgot the betrayal. Sarah’s move was deemed a calculated one for her personal interests.
Sarah and her ex-husband’s reputation has been further tarnished because of their ties to Jeffrey Epstein. An email came out in which the former Duchess called the late pedophile a “supreme friend.” Andrew lost his royal titles in part because of his ties to Jeffrey and was evicted from his home. She and Andrew don’t seem to be on great terms anymore. Reports suggest that Sarah is trying to distance herself from him.
Sarah may also want to put some distance between herself and public life. She’s reportedly looking to relocate to Portugal, where her daughter, Princess Eugenie, and son-in-law, Jack Brooksbank, spend plenty of time.
This is seen as a move to escape the spotlight which has damaged her reputation.
