Chiefs Asked to Make Major Decision With Travis Kelce — Analyst

Fox Sports analyst Colin Cowherd recently shared some advice for the Kansas City Chiefs regarding Travis Kelce amid the team’s declining performance. The Chiefs suffered their second straight loss in Week 11 against the Denver Broncos, further hurting their position in the standings. They currently have only five wins, while the Broncos and Chargers lead the AFC West with nine and seven wins, respectively.

Sports Analyst says Chiefs need to make a decision with Travis Kelce

Sports analyst Cowherd recently shared his opinion on the decline in performance of the Chiefs, offering advice to close Kelce’s chapter for good and give the team a “reboot.” He said, “In my opinion, Kansas City needs a reboot. They have to rip the Band-Aid off with Travis Kelce. You can’t have your star weapon be good five times a year. It’s time to rip the Band-Aid off. Final year. He’ll be good if they get to the playoffs.”

In 2020, Kelce signed a four-year contract extension with the Kansas City Chiefs worth $57 million. In April 2024, he reportedly agreed to a new two-year deal valued at $34.25 million, securing his place with the Chiefs through the 2025 season.

At the time of writing, as there’s no confirmation, it remains unclear whether this year could be Kelce’s last in the NFL or if he will be renewed for additional seasons. However, Kelce has earlier discussed his latest ventures, apart from sports, in his New Heights podcast.

He revealed that he has invested $200 million in an amusement park company called Six Flags. “It came across the desk, and I could not pass this opportunity up. I’m teaming up with Jana Partners, with Six Flags, and Cedar Fair.”

The NFL star continued, “We’re going to be a part of the theme park and the amusement parks that absolutely rocked our world as kids. And hopefully, give families nowadays the fun and the memories we had and we cherished growing up.”

However, Kelce revealed that he looks forward to his theme park plans in the off-season. He added, “As soon as the season’s over with, I’m going to go up there and hit the park. I’m going to try to get to as many as I can this offseason. Just lay my eyes on what everything Six Flags has to offer outside of just Ohio.”
